The key to a really good pizza is, of course, the crust.

This fast and easy recipe is the very best thin-crust pizza dough for a home cook on a weeknight.

The toppings start with pizza sauce and shredded cheese,

and you can add your favorite veggies and meats.

Start prepping the dough.

First, put a baking sheet in a 450° oven. While the sheet's warming, get the dough going. You'll need yeast, all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil. Dissolve the yeast in warm water until it foams up (3 to 5 minutes).

Make the rounds.

Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms, then knead the dough into a ball. Let it sit covered for about 10 minutes (get your toppings ready!), then divide the dough into 2 balls and roll or stretch each into a 10- to 12-inch round

Layer it on.

Take the baking sheet out of the oven and put it upside down on a wire rack. Position the dough on the baking sheet, brush it with olive oil, then layer on the sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Bake it up!

Keep the pizza in the oven until the crust is golden and the cheese melted and a bit browned, about 8 to 10 minutes. Let it cool for 5 minutes or so, the slice and serve. (And don't forget to use the rest of the dough and toppings for pizza number 2!)
