The $6 Aldi Grocery I’ll Be Grilling All Summer Long
Aldi is on my short list of supermarket stops in the summertime. With its low prices and high-quality groceries, I can keep my pantry stocked with easy breakfasts and pool snacks and save money just by shopping there. That’s also why it’s my go-to grocery store when I’m planning dinner on the grill.
The cost of meat, buns, sauces, and skewers can add up over the season. This summer I’m picking up packages of Simply Nature Organic 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef every time I shop at Aldi, and you should too. Here’s why.
What’s So Great About Simply Nature Organic 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef?
Aldi sells several house brands of ground beef in both the refrigerated and freezer sections, and my favorite is the Simply Nature 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef. Buying grass fed and organic ground beef can be cost-prohibitive elsewhere, but at Aldi one pound is less than $6 per pound, and less expensive than it was last summer.
Some grocery stores sell ground beef in inconsistently sized packages; I love that every package of Simply Nature 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef comes recipe-ready in one-pound packages. Plus, the beef is already vacuum-sealed, so I can stock up and toss extras into the freezer for next week’s grill session.
What’s the Best Way to Serve Simply Nature Organic 100% Grass Fed Ground Beef?
Grilled beef burgers are a summertime staple. I like to add a sprinkle of this homemade burger seasoning onto the beef and make a shallow indentation in the center before adding it to the grill. This ground beef has a ratio of 85% lean to 15% fat, so the burgers are bound to be juicy. I’m also tempted to try this viral burger-taco mash-up I’ve seen recently on social media, prepping it on the grill instead of in a skillet. Dinner at the grill isn’t complete without summery side dishes, juicy watermelon, and an ice cream sundae.
